Rex Patterson completed his undergraduate and doctorate degrees at Emory University. Rex then opened Patterson Family Dentistry here in Toccoa in 1979.
Over the past 35 years, Rex has enjoyed watching many smiling faces change from children to adults. Rex is married to Sheila Patterson and they have three children. His children now have families of their own and live in Toccoa, Cornelia, and Buford. Rex has found himself in many roles over the years. A few include; serving as the Scoutmaster of Troop 217 for the past 20 years, serving as a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, and even coaching the high school tennis team for a few years. Providing dental care to the people of Toccoa has always been at the forefront and a lifelong passion for Rex. Dr. Rex Patterson looks forward to many more years of servicing Toccoa!

Sheila has been working in the dental field for over 30 years and has a passion for serving others. She has called Toccoa home her entire life and has enjoyed getting to meet and serve the people in our community.
Sheila is the person that will battle your insurance company, squeeze you into an appointment you need, and answer those hard phone questions you may have. We have been lucky to have Sheila at our office for all of these years, and she will be the first smiling face to greet you when you walk into our office! Sheila is married to Rex Patterson and has three children.
Janet Dawson

Janet has a great passion for dentistry and is always excited to welcome new patients to our practice. Janet has been a valued hygienist here at Patterson Family Dentistry since 1983.
During her years of service, she has watched many of our patients grow into adults and bring in kids of their own. Janet has a wonderful personality that will make you want to sit in the chair and chat instead of get your teeth cleaned! Janet is married to Kendall Dawson and they have two children.
Anita Compton
Registered Dental Hygienist
Anita has been in the dental field for over 30 years. She started her hygiene career here at Patterson Family Dental in 1986 and re-joined our office in 2010. We have cherished the opportunity to have her as a member of our team.
Anita is a wonderful hygienist, but her greatest accomplishment is living in a house with four boys. Anita is married to Scott Compton, and they have three sons!
Sheila Kelley

Sheila has a personality that is perfect for healthcare. People immediately notice her caring nature and she will help support you whether you are coming in for a cleaning or root canal!
Sheila has been an essential member of Patterson Family Dentistry for over 20 years. She always has a smile on her face and finds a way to show compassion to each and every patient. Sheila was born and lives here in Toccoa. She and her husband, Rodney, have raised two boys that are now in middle and high school.
Tasha Scroggs
Dental Assistant, Insurance Coordinator
Tasha started working here at Patterson Family Dentistry in 2002. Tasha’s enthusiasm is contagious and will make you feel comfortable and relaxed. She is great with adults and kids alike, and always has a big smile on her face. Somehow she achieves all this energy and doesn’t even drink coffee! Tasha grew up in Toccoa and now lives in Carnesville with her husband, Tyler, and their three kids. Tasha’s kids are all young so she and her husband are currently becoming experts in cheerleading, basketball, and tree climbing.
